The International Women’s Day week was celebrated with power and positivity in the premises of Moti Ram Arya Sr. Sec. Model School, Sector 27-A, Chandigarh in school auditorium. The whole event was planned in association with Chandigarh Police, Chandigarh Traffic Police, Citizens Awareness Group NGO, & Swayam –a feminist organization.

All the women teachers and staff members were warmly invited to witness the programs  organised under the able guidance of Ms Mohinder Kaur Kataria – a motivational speaker , soft skill trainer with Chandigarh Police and also under Inspector Parvesh Sharma Chandiagrh Police. Sh. SSP Sondhi-DSP Traffic Admin and Mrs Aparna Beniwal-President Chandigarh Police Family Welfare Society graced the occasion as chief guest.

Programs includes speeches of various eminent personalities, skil performance by Swayam Team which signified very important issue of female Foeticide and Gender Inequality  which mesmerised the audience with tears and nostalgia. Cultural performance was shown by the team from Jhajjar Haryana. Highlight of the event was Martial Art Tricks shown by Bapu Dham colony girls to help protect women in difficult circumstances.

Also, State Legal Services Authority, U.T, Chandigarh provides us with very valuable information regarding various services available for the poors, so as to ensure fair and meaningful justice to the marginalized and disadvantaged sections.

Various plants and certificates were distributed among the teachers to honour and congratulate them on International Women’s Day.

Aparna Beniwal and SSP Sondhi – wished everyone on Women’s Day and encouraged the teachers and all the women sitting in the hall to fight for the rights and to strengthen their efforts. Dr. Seema Biji Principal of the school gave vote of thanks to everyone at the end and wished teachers and told them to change the way the world perceives that strength.
